Abstract: William Mattson was a wealthy landowner in Swedesboro during the 1700s. After the Revolutionary War, he became disillusioned with religion and ceased involvement with Trinity Church. Dr. Collin eventually convinced Mattson to return to the church, and Mattson later bequeathed a significant amount of land to Trinity Church in 1799.
